Very well put Gregg. Thanks for all you do to make a positive difference.
Hope this Monday is an excellent one for you my friend, -Archie

you bet Archie. Thanks as always for the feedback!

Hey Gregg! It’s great to have you back. :)

I couldn’t agree more with your take on the relationship between behavior and financial management. Successful financial management is mostly about a mindset — not the math.

Anyone can change his financial life if he just makes his mind to do it. Once his mind is made up, the rest is easy.

Glad to be back Jenny! When it comes to marriages, I am thoroughly convinced that if people healed that first, finances would be a whole lot easier to discuss. Thanks for the kind words my friend!

Gregg, great discussion. Being trained in accounting, I always believed that personal finance was all about the numbers. But more and more my experience tells me it’s about developing good healthy financial habits and doing the small things on a consistent basis. Anyone can do it as long as they are committed to changing the way they handle and view their money!

Couldn’t agree more Jonathan. My father always said, “the numbers dont lie” and that is true…..BUT you can lie to yourself when it comes to the numbers. Thanks for the input

    Welcome back, Gregg!

You’re right that when it comes to change of any sort, we have to be committed to do it. We can get all of the advice in the world, but if we don’t take the steps, it’s not going to happen.

You said it yourself that as a coach, you can guide us, but you can’t make us do anything. You can help us, but we have to help ourselves, as well.

But, thanks for not slacking anymore (just kidding!) and for continuing to provide us your thoughts and insights!

  • Anonymous

hah! I know , been hearing the “slacking” from all sides! Agree about the commitment….need to always look long term and estimate what the ramifications will be from the decisions we make today…Thanks Chris!

I hate doing a budget too….but the description of it being a “guardrail” is dead on.  Without it, we’ve drive right off the cliffs.  I also agree with the 95/5 – doing the math is easy – discussing the limits and sticking to them with your spouse and family is the very, very hard part….

  • Anonymous

yes, it is my friend, but once you get over the budget “hurdle”, things seem to fall into place a lot easier…..

Nice job Gregg- I’m happy to hear you are guest speaker at WCR next month, however, I’m going to be on vacation and will miss you!

     Awesome stuff, Gregg!

     Thanks “awesome” brother…..

Really appreciate it that Cindy. …..and REALLY looking forward  to speaking at WCR on June 9th. Sorry you wont be there. BTW- I still owe you lunch!

  • Cindy Hirch

Love the part about not being a babysitter. Until people are truly ready to make permanent lifestyle changes and ready to do the hard work to get there, all the coaching in the world, from the best coach in the world, won’t change their  situations. Inward changes will produce tangible outward results. Great job Gregg!

Thanks Cindy. Very frustrating when everyone wants a magic pill to solve the problem…..

I’m sure it is frustrating Gregg. In the journey of trying to help
others be thankful (and I know you are) for those who really “get it!” You can lead them to a place of healing and feeling good that they are taking the necessary steps to be free. That is worth it’s weight in gold!
