Stop Asking For Permission

Since we were kids, we always had to ask for permission.
Can I have chocolate milk? No!
Can I play with my friends? You are too young!
Can I have a sleepover? Not yet!
While these could fall into the category of good parenting with certain age groups, we seem to bring these thought processes into our adult life.
The problem comes when we are waiting on someone else to take the lead because no one has given us permission.
So, we still wait on the chocolate milk.
But that mindset needs to be smashed when you want to succeed.
“You need to pay $300/month for a 30 second ad spot to be on the radio”. Sorry, I’ll take the $300 and start my own show.
“You need to bow at the alter of the publishers to have a shot of telling your story.” Sorry, I’ll self publish my own book…not for myself, but as a gift to help others who are hurting.
“You are crazy start a business in this economy!” Maybe so, but fill a need that people want……..you will make your own economy.
I am not patting myself on the back but the main question is:
Are you still waiting to ask for permission to be successful?
